Well the big day is being planned and now you need to decide on the music for both the ceremony and the reception after. Typically, the wedding ceremony features an organist or pianist playing a selection of traditional wedding tunes. However, at the reception it is a more relaxed and genial venue to have some of your favorite music played. Most people have their reception music provided by a DJ but it is much more fun if you have a live band instead.

You Don’t Have To Follow The Crowd

As mentioned most wedding receptions feature DJ’s but it is much more fun to have a live band play at your wedding because it allows you the opportunity to liaise with the band before hand and for you and your partner to have a direct say in the choice of songs to be played. Where as with the DJ style you are probably going to get a song list and choose from what the DJ has to offer which is usually recent pop hits with a few old classic dance tracks thrown in.

Surprise Request

By choosing a live band to provide the music at your wedding it allows you the option of making special song requests. This can be a great surprise for your husband or wife-to-be particularly if their is a certain song that they really love or there is a song that reminds them of your first meeting or special moment you have shared together. Having a live band at your wedding reception allows you to incorporate these songs into your wedding, perhaps even with a new twist.

Play That Funky Music!

In an era where hiring a DJ to play popular music at a wedding reception is the most common practice, choosing a live bands to perform at your wedding reception is a refreshing choice. Whilst most people find it much easier to hire a DJ and let them select the music by engaging a live band really does add to the atmosphere of the event and will help make the night a memorable one for you and all your guests.

When selecting a band for your wedding, it is important to take into consideration your own tastes and preferences as well as those of your future spouse. It is important to choose a band that plays the style of music that you both enjoy and will enhance the mood of the occasion. If you both agree on which wedding band you want to perform at the reception it will make it more enjoyable for all parties involved.

Another important factor to take into consideration is the theme you have chosen for the wedding reception as you need the Band to compliment it. For example it would be brilliant to engage a reggae band if you are planning on having a beach wedding. Alternatively a swing band might go great at a thirties-themed wedding. If your wedding does not have a particular theme, simply go with one of your favorite local bands or a band that plays your favorite genre of music.

Even though having a live band play at your wedding might not be the typical case it really does add greatly to the atmosphere of a wedding party and the Band will do their very best to entertain you and your guests so you have a night to remember.
